Nine Northwest Athletes Win 2018 Premier's Awards
Nine young northwest athletes were honoured last night in Smithers, as recipients of the 2018 Premier's Awards for Indigenous Youth Excellence in Sport.
Mackenzie Gladstone-Howard, Elie Morgan and Honrei Morgan of Gitsegukla, Jaimie Denny of Gitanmaax, Fraser Dodd of Lax-Kw'alaams, Blaise Sakac of the Gitxsan First Nation, Dakota Price of the Nisga'a and Haida Nations, Tyrell Harris of Gitanmaax and Pasha Ormerod of the Métis Nation received the awards during a formal celebration held at the Dze L K'ant Friendship Centre Hall in Smithers.

The Northwest is the second of the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation Council's six regions to honour Indigenous athletes through this province-wide awards program.
