One Person Dead, Another in Police Custody Following Incident on South Side of Francois Lake
One person is dead -- another is in custody, following an incident early this morning on the South Side of Francois Lake.
Burns Lake R-C-M-P say they received several calls at around 6:30 this morning.
The North District Major Crime Unit and Forensic Experts are assisting in the investigation.
The person in custody is being described as a "person of interest" by police -- and no other information on what happened has been released.

On Thursday May 18th 2017 at 6:30AM, Burns Lake RCMP received reports of a person believed to be deceased on the South Side of Francois Lake. Multiple calls from the community were received in relation to this.
North District Major Crime, and Forensic Experts have been called to the community to assist the Burns Lake RCMP with this investigation. Police are working hard to gather all the evidence. A person of interest has been identified and is presently in police custody. The police believe that there is no risk to the community. More information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
