Prince Rupert's Mayor says the seven-million-dollar federal-provincial infrastructure grant announce

Prince Rupert's Mayor says the seven-million-dollar federal-provincial infrastructure grant announced last week for his city's Woodworth Lake Dam replacement project is great news.

The project will receive a total of seven-million dollars.

Mayor Lee Brain says the dam replacement has been the City's top priority for infrastructure upgrades for quite some time.

"So we're very thrilled because it's a three phase project, which means now we've secured funding for two phases and this is a huge win for the community to upgrade our water infrastructure project supply," says Brain.

Brain says once all three phases are complete, the next big infrastructure project the City plans to work on is the waste water treatment facility that he says is in need of some upgrading.
