RCMP, ICBC Give Out Free Reflectors in Prince Rupert
Police in Prince Rupert and the Insurance Corporation of BC are trying to cut down on the number of pedestrians hit by vehicles -- and today, they'll be giving out free clip-on reflectors.
Between 3 and 4 o'clock this afternoon, the reflectors, which can be clipped on to jackets or backpacks, will be handed out to people between the 300 and 600 blocks of 3rd Avenue West in Prince Rupert.
RCMP Staff Sergeant Jagdev Uppal says with rainy season upon us and limited daylight, it's important for people to be seen -- and for drivers to reduce their speed and pay extra attention to pedestrians in crosswalks.

Please join members of the RCMP along with ICBC Road Safety & Community Coordinator for Northern B.C. Doug MacDonald, who will be handing out reflectors at the following event:
Date: November 8th, 2018
Time: Between 3:00 and 4:00 PM.
Location: Between the 300 and 600 block of 3rd Ave West in Prince Rupert
"This RCMP is excited to be partnering with ICBC for this initiative as we continue to be dedicated to increasing pedestrian safety while we transition into the winter months", states S/Sgt. Jagdev Uppal, Operations Officer for the Prince Rupert RCMP.
