River Kings Win CIHL Championship -- Rathjen Named Playoff MVP

The Terrace River Kings are the Central Interior Hockey League's 2017 champions!

The River Kings faced the daunting task of beating the Williams Lake Stampeders twice on their home ice over the weekend... and they did it!

On Saturday night, Luke Walker scored in the third overtime period to give Terrace a 5-4 victory, forcing a third-and-deciding game yesterday.

And the River Kings squeezed out another close victory, winning 2-1 to take the championship.

Goaltender Jared Rathjen [pictured at right] was named playoff MVP.

The River Kings will now represent the CIHL in the Coy Cup championships in Whitehorse at the end of the month.
