Teenage Girl Killed in Weekend Crash in Thornhill

A two-vehicle crash on River Drive in Thornhill early Saturday morning claimed the life of an 18-year-old girl.

RCMP say the crash happened at around 1:25am.

Police arrived to find paramedics and the local fire department already on-scene helping the two drivers, who were the only occupants of the vehicles.

RCMP say the driver of one car succumbed to her injuries, while the driver of the other vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police say road conditions were bare and dry at the time.

The BC Coroners Service and the RCMP are investigating.

Names of those involved have not been officially released.

On April 1, 2017 at approximately 1:25 a.m., Terrace RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on River Drive in Thornhill, BC.

Police officers arrived on scene to find paramedics and the local fire department providing medical care to the two drivers, who were the sole occupants of the vehicles, a Honda and Toyota. Both were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

At the hospital, the driver of the Honda, an 18-year-old female, succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the Toyota received non-life threatening injuries.

Road conditions were bare and dry at the time.

The BC Coroners Service and police continue to investigate. Names of those involved will not be released at this time.
