Terrace Man Found Not Guilty of Murder, but Guilty of Attempted Murder

A Terrace man has been found not guilty of second-degree murder in the shooting death of another man in Thornhill four years ago.

The jury delivered their verdicts in BC Supreme Court Wednesday afternoon after three days of deliberation.

Travis Stephens was charged in the death of 27-year-old Eric Cardinal, who was found dead in a home on Dobbie Street in September of 2013.

While Stephens was acquitted of murder in Cardinal's death, he was found guilty of attempted murder and aggravated assault against a 29-year-old woman in the home.

A date for sentencing hasn't been set yet.
