Terrace Woman in Custody After Elderly Man Stabbed to Death

A woman is in police custody in Terrace, after an elderly man was stabbed to death last night.

RCMP say they were alerted at around 10:30 last night that a vehicle with blood on its exterior was spotted in downtown Terrace.

Police located the vehicle, which led them to a home in the 4700 block of Soucie Avenue, where they found a man outside, suffering what appeared to be stab wounds.

The 85-year-old man was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A 34-year-old woman was arrested and is in police custody.

Police say the victim and accused were known to each other and that the general public is not at risk.

The RCMP's Forensic Identification Section and the North District Major Crime Unit are assisting in the investigation.

Police are investigating a homicide after a man was located with injuries on Soucie Avenue Wednesday night.

Around 10:30 p.m., Terrace RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle with blood on its exterior downtown Terrace.

Police were able to locate the vehicle and obtain information leading to an address on the 4700 block of Soucie Avenue. Officers attended the location and found an unresponsive man outside who appeared to have been stabbed. The 85-year-old man was transported to hospital and declared dead shortly after.

A 34-year-old woman was arrested in connection to the incident and remains in police custody. The victim and accused are known to each other and police believe the general public is not at risk.

The Terrace RCMP General Investigations Section is continuing its investigation, with support from General Duty officers, the Forensic Identification Section, and North District Major Crime Unit.
