Three Homes Damaged in Prince Rupert Fire
Three houses are damaged following a blaze in the 900 block of Third Avenue West in Prince Rupert yesterday.
Prince Rupert fire crews responded to a call at approximately 6:18 PM of a house fire next to the Pacific Inn.
13 firefighters were on scene to contain the blaze.
Prince Rupert's Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Beckwith says the fire is currently under investigation and no injuries were reported. He also commended the assistance of multiple organizations.
"We were supported on scene by RCMP, Public Works, BC Ambulance, PNG, and BC Hydro. Without their support it would have made our job very, very difficult on scene."
The fire was contained in approximately four hours, but due to the roofing structure of the three houses access to materials underneath was made difficult and crews were on scene all night exstinguishing hot spots.
