Prince Rupert Restaurant Holding Fundraiser for B.C. Wildfire Victims

A restaurant in Prince Rupert is holding a fundraiser on Saturday to raise funds for the victims of the wildfire down in the Interior.

Don Cherry's Sports Grill is setting aside money from some of their menu items and will also have a donation box set out.

Manager Tami O'Rear says it felt like the right thing to do.

"Considering we did one for Fort Mac last year and like we said, it's close to home. I have family there and friends that have been devastated by the tragedy. Throughout B.C., Don Cherry's in Prince George and West Coast Hospitality they're stuff throughout. So, we're doing it as a company, and community to get out there and get some money raised for these people."

O'Rear says the fundraiser will be taking place from opening and last until they close for the night.
