Riverkings Gearing Up For Coy Cup

The Terrace Riverkings are heading to the Coy Cup, in hopes of securing a provincial title.The Kings recently took down Williams Lake in the Central Interior final to become the Senior Mens AA Playoff Champions.
The team has competed in the Coy Cup for the past 5 years... and they've brought home silver medals from the past 3. This year, Captain Steve Cullis says the team is yearning for gold;

"Yeah, it's been pretty disappointing the last few years, but we're trying to get on the right side of that final game this year. I like our chances... I like our team. I mean, if we get into another final again... Eventually it's gotta go our way, doesn't it..after beating Williams Lake the way we did, I think everyone's pretty up, and we're ready to get on the road to Whitehorse."

Tonight at the Terrace Sportsplex, the Riverkings will be hosting a pep rally & victory sendoff...Doors will open at 8:15, with the main event at 8:30, and then an open practice at 9.

The Coy Cup Tournament will run next Tuesday through to Saturday... There, the Riverkings will compete against the North Island Capitals, the Kelowna Sparta, and home-team the Whitehorse Huskies for the Provincial Title.
