Water Quality Advisory Issued for District of Kitimat
Kitimat residents are being advised that some people in the community should boil their water before drinking it.
The District issued a water quality advisory late Tuesday saying Northern Health recommends that children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems drink boiled water for the time being.
It's because of elevated haziness in the Kitimat River which rose sharply and turned muddy after heavy weekend rains.
Owners of businesses that serve water are also supposed to make patrons aware of the advisory.
The advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
