WCC LNG to Close Prince Rupert Office This Week
An LNG project proposed for the Prince Rupert area is scaling back operations.
Officials behind the WCC LNG project say they will close its office in town on First Avenue.
Work will also move at a slower pace through 2018 due to the uncertainties in the gas industry.
The project led by ExxonMobil is proposed in the Tuck Inlet and within Prince Rupert city limits.
Officials did make it clear they are still interested in building a facility in the area.
The office in town is open Tuesday 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and then Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
After that, questions and comments will be accepted via email or by phone.
The project is currently under the pre-application stages of the environmental assessment process.
