Mark Brennae is the host of the CFAX 1070 show "Afternoons with Mark Brennae" weekdays from 3-6 p.m.
Mark hails from Ottawa, where he worked as a parliamentary reporter/editor at The Canadian Press/Broadcast News for more than a decade, covering politics, sports and spot news.
While at CP/BN, Mark wrote and reported on federal elections, budgets, referenda, diplomatic and royal visits, as well as the daily question period in the House of Commons.
Mark has written and reported extensively on the National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators, CFL’s Ottawa Rough Riders and many other sports, including AAA baseball, curling’s Brier and Tournament of Hearts, as well as several Summer and Winter Olympic Games.
He also has freelanced his work to ABC Radio, CBS Radio, The Associated Press and Reuters, and is the recipient of RTNDA and Edward R. Murrow awards for his reporting.
Mark’s skills as an editor landed him at Postmedia News in Ottawa, and he also has anchored and reported for major radio stations, including CFRA Ottawa and 680 News Toronto.
In addition to the nation’s capital, Mark has lived in Montreal, Toronto and China, but he fell in love with British Columbia and hopes to live in Victoria for the rest of his life.
