With longer days and the arrival of warmer weather, 102.9 K-Lite is proud to announce the return of 102 Days of Summer presented by theheartofontario.com, encouraging you to become a tourist in your own region and discover all the wonderful things there are to do with your family and friends during the summer months! We’ve teamed up with local and regional attractions, festivals and shows to give you the chance to ‘win your way in’ to some fun in the sun with the 102 Days of Summer contest.

Prize #1 -
Chocolate and Tea Pairing – 12 pm to 2 pm on July 22nd – Creativity Workshop at the Quilt of Belonging at the Cotton Factory.
Come and enjoy an afternoon with two of life's greatest pleasures: tea and chocolate! Join aspiring Tea Sommelier and owner of The Monarch Tea Co., Katie Cyr, in an educational and interactive evening involving the art of pairing tea with locally sourced chocolate.

American Tribal Belly Dancing – 2 pm to 4 pm on July 23rd – Creativity Workshop at the Quilt of Belonging at the Cotton Factory
It is a workout for your body and your brain and now is the time for you to discover how much fun it can be! During this workshop, you'll enjoy an exciting performance by Elysium Tribal, Hamilton's premier ATS® dance troupe.

Introduction to Belly Dance with Eshe – 2 pm to 4 pm on July 30th - Creativity Workshop at the Quilt of Belonging at the Cotton Factory
Learn the basics of bellydance with Eshe of Mahasti –The Bellydance Emporium an award-winning professional artist. Bellydance is a celebratory, social dance performed at family functions. It’s a gentle and fun dance great for all ages.

Creating Flow – 12 pm to 4 pm on August 5th - Creativity Workshop at the Quilt of Belonging at the Cotton Factory
Creating Flow is a playful workshop that creates the experience of the present movement. Much like we did as children, with some guided meditation, paint, brushes and paper, you will have fun creating and playing.

Latin Percussion Workshop – 12 pm to 1 pm on August 6th - Creativity Workshop at the Quilt of Belonging at the Cotton Factory
Join this one hour workshop and be shown different rhythms and percussion instruments from Latin America. Latin America is very extensive and diverse rhythms and music varies depending on the area (South, North, Caribbean, Central America) we will take you to a journey through Latin America, starting from native music and finishing with salsa, songo, samba and more.

Bachata for Beginners – 2 pm to 4 pm on August 6th - Creativity Workshop at the Quilt of Belonging at the Cotton Factory
Dance: Beginner Bachata workshop. Throughout this 2 Hour Bachata Workshop participants will learn how to lead and follow basic bachata patterns.

Afro Caribbean Movement with Live Music – 2 pm to 4 pm on August 12 - Creativity Workshop at the Quilt of Belonging at the Cotton Factory
Belinda Becker is a triple threat as DJ, dancer, and actor. Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, Belinda&n has performed Haitian Folklore, and Afro-Cuban dance for over 20 years with Pat Hall and Baba Richard Gonzalez.

Traditional Arts and Crafts of the Ohnkwehonweh/Haudensaunee – 12 pm to 2 pm on August 13th - Creativity Workshop at the Quilt of Belonging at the Cotton Factory
Participants will engage in creating their very own arts and crafts based on traditional Ohnkwehonweh/Haudensaunee methods and designs. Our most popular craft has been the Wampum Belt Key chain.
Prize #10 –
Social Song and Dance of the Ohnkwehonweh/Haudensaunee – 2 pm to 4 pm on August 13th - Creativity Workshop at the Quilt of Belonging at the Cotton Factory
Listen and learn as traditional knowledge keepers drum, sing and dance Ohnkwehonweh/Haudensaunee social songs and share the significance behind each song and dance. Audience participation is optional but highly recommended.
