Upcoming Live Music

Mississippi Bends is Hamilton Based Alt Country/North Americana band with a dark, swampy organic brew that will buckle your knees faster than a triple whiskey sour. Mixing the multi-grit ambient textures of Andrew Aldridge's guitar sounds and the dark country croons of Mary Simon's voice comes the unique sound of this duo. In 2015 Mississippi Bends was nominated for New Artist/Group of the Year and Alt/Country Recording of the Year with the Hamilton Music Awards for their self-titled EP. Performance will take place on the 3rd floor of the Cotton Factory.

Dan Edmonds (ACT 1) From the grooving opening track “To Be That Needle,” to the charmingly lo-fi “Yearning,” Edmonds presents himself as a folkie with a tough, inner-city edge. It’s a stylistic shift he had been mulling over before Harlan Pepper’s dissolution, and as tracks began taking shape in his home studio, Edmonds soon realized he had no choice but to go all the way.

Coszmos Quartettes (ACT 2) We play music while drinking tea, and will quite often apply peppermint oil to the backs of our necks to feel enlightened before a show. We play music void of drums. You will often see us smile at each other while performing, and as often as possible while not performing. Brad Germain plays the acoustic guitar and sings, Kate Quigley plays the flute and the piano and sings, Joel Banks plays the upright bass and sings, and Sara Froese plays violin and sings. Our music can be listened to by anyone who likes to daydream, and by those who think about the metaphysical nature of all things. File under meta-folk.

Emma VanDyk (OPENER) is a singer-songwriter from Hamilton, Ontario. She has been writing and performing music for years, and her songs have been described as "beautifully honest". Emma is currently releasing a single every month and is hard at work on her debut EP.
