Driver of car with doors open on QEW linked to break-and-enters

Hamilton police say the burgundy car captured in an online video with the rear doors wide open  and what looked like wood sticking out each side has been tied to a number of break and enters.

Police say a detective recognized the car in the video and were able to link it to an alleged theft in April.

Investigators say a man and woman were spotted on video driving the vehicle inside a compound on Brockley Drive and prying the gate open on April 13. They allegedly stole 450 kilograms of bulk steel with an estimated value of $3000.

On April 22, they allegedly tried to gain entry to the same compound but failed.

After seeing the video, they were able to determine where the vehicle was and seized the 1991 red Chevrolet Lumina from an address in Hamilton.
On Thursday, police charged  42-year-old Christopher Cielecki and  42-year-old Nicole Farr  with one count each of break and enter, and seized the car
