Hamilton sheet metal workers on strike
Hundreds of sheet metal workers have begun picketing in Hamilton, Niagara, and Brantford.
According to OntarioConstructionNews, the union is fighting for more money and a shorter work week - the union is fighting for a 36 hour week, while employers insist on 40.
The article also warns this could be just the start of a 'volatile construction season' as few unions have been able to negotiate new contracts.
The previous contracts expired at the end of April.
