Robert Badgerow to learn if appeal is successful today
The Ontario Court of Appeal is expected to hand down its decision on the killer's appeal of his conviction for first degree murder.
Badgerow has been tried four times for the same first degree murder.
The most recent was in December 2106 when a jury found him guilty of raping, drowning and strangling nursing assistant Diane Werendowicz in June 1981.
Badgerow's first trial ended in a guilty verdict. His second trial ended in a hung jury. The same thing happened with his third trial. He was again convicted at his fourth trial held in Kitchener.
