Truck with 38 cows on board involved in crash on RHVP

A transport truck driver is facing charges after colliding with a Volkswagen on the Red Hill Valley Parkway near Mud Street.

Police were called out to the parkway around 5:30 p.m. last night when a truck travelling eastbound lost control and hit a grey Volkswagen Jetta, forcing the Jetta into the ditch.

The truck carrying 38 cows continued northbound and stopped at the Greenhill exit. No animals were hurt.

The driver of the Jetta suffered minor injuries.

Hamilton Police say the crash was a result of driver error, and the transport truck was deemed unfit for the road.

A 37 year old driver from Norwich is facing charges including careless driving and driving a commercial vehicle with an improper license.
