Drake Sued By Woman Who Claims She Was Raped At Concert
Canadian rap superstar Drake has been named as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by a woman who claims she was raped at one of his concerts.
The 28-year-old woman, identified in court filings only as “Jane Doe,” alleges she was attacked on Aug. 14, 2016 by a man who offered to take her backstage at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to meet Drake and fellow rap performer Future.
The man, since identified as 38-year-old Leavy Johnson, allegedly pushed her to the ground and “violently assaulted her.” He is awaiting trial on a rape charge.
Though Johnson was not employed by Drake, Jane Doe claims the Toronto rapper should have known that Johnson posed “an unreasonable risk to others.”
Her lawsuit, which seeks $25 million U.S. in damages, names Drake, Future, Bridgestone Arena and several others as defendants.
