Moose enters Canada at Woodstock Port of Entry

Not exactly what you would expect to see crossing the border, but a moose roamed into Canada at the Woodstock border last week.

Brunswick News reporting Canada Border Services Agency says the incident happened April 11th.

After it approached the Woodstock port of entry, border services officers monitored the moose throughout the night to ensure the safety of travellers.

About 12 hours after its crossing, the moose wandered back across the border April 12.

Officials say it’s not unusual to have wildlife near the port of entry but it is unusual to have a moose come so close  and stay for an extended period of time.

There are about 30,000 moose in Maine.
