Province to replace closed bridge in Grand Falls

Some good news for residents who used Beaulieu Mill Road in Grand Falls.

The province announced Wednesday that it will install a new modular bridge to replace the structure at Little River No. 2.

The crossing was closed to traffic in September after an inspection identified structural concerns with the bridge.

Officials say the project is part of more than $9 million in road, bridge and highway investments identified in this year's capital budget for northwestern New Brunswick.

Other planned projects include paving of Route 17 between Airport Road and Saint-Léonard, paving of Route 144 from Rivière-Verte Bridge No. 1 to Doucet Road, and work on Route 108.
