Fire at abandoned water park under investigation
Fire officials and police are investigating a suspicious fire at an abandoned water park in Springwater Township.
Springwater Fire and Emergency Services was called out to the former Splash Canyon on Nursery Road, shortly after 10pm on Saturday, March 30th. Midhurst Station 2 and Minesing Station 3 responded. Tankers from Hillsdale Station 4 and Elmvale Station 5 wer called to assist with water shuttle.

"When crews arrived, they found an abandoned building on the property fully involved," says Jeff French, Deputy Fire Chief. "We went into a defensive attack, with 25 firefighters on scene to combat the fire. It took 30 minutes to bring the fire under control and there were no injuries."
The fire was deemed suspicious, and the OPP are investigating. The Ontario Fire Marshall's office was also notified.
