Donation of $500,000 to HSN's MRI Fund

Health Sciences North's MRI equipment is about to get a much needed upgrade. The current equipment is around 10 years old and nearing the end of it's life cycle, while being operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Aproximately 13,000 tests are performed at HSN to suuport the treatment of 600,000 residents in Northeastern Ontario. The demand for MRI scans at HSN is higher than average, close to triple the provincial target. The approximate cost for two new MRI scanners plus installation stands at $6.1 million.

Carman and Sandy Fielding gave a tremendous boost the HSN's MRI fund on November 7th with a donation of $500,000 that will go towards the purchase of the new equipement. Carman says they know the importance of giving back to their community and making it a better and healtheir place to live.
