Police Investigate Suspicious Fire in Val Caron

Around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday (April 09) night, Greater Sudbury Fire Services responded to a residential fire on Romeo Street in Val Caron.

A neighbour saw smoke coming from the residence and contacted 911.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire as the homeowners were not in the residence at the time of the incident.

Greater Sudbury Police Service Criminal Investigations Division Detectives are working in collaboration with the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office in order to determine the cause of the fire.

At this time, the fire is being treated as suspicious and Investigators are canvassing the area for information.

Officers will remain on scene as the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
