Ed Sheeran Uses Instagram To Slam News Report

Ed Sheeran took to Instagram on Sunday to trash a report that he wants to put railings about his London home to keep homeless people away.

Natalie Edwards of The Sun wrote that the singer has submitted an application for permission to build five-foot railings “to keep out homeless people — even though he wrote a song about sleeping rough.”

The article claimed the application lists one of the reasons for the railings as “preventing opportunities for rough sleeping” outside his four-bedroom townhouse.

The singer responded with a message for Edwards:

“Dear Natalie Edwards from the Sun newspaper. Your story is bollocks, I have done lots of work in the past for crisis and shelter and would never build railings outside my home for that reason. The reason was to keep the paps that you employ from being on my doorstep. Have a good day.”

Sheeran wrote the song “Homeless” (on his 2010 EP Loose Change) about his own experiences sleeping on the streets of London as a teenager.
