Lobster harvesters expecting favourable price for catch
After a long winter New Brunswick's lobster harvesters are preparing to get back out on the water and are expecting a favourable price for their catch.
Val-Comeau's Rejean Comeau, who is also president of the Local 01 Fisherman's Union says there are many factors at play when it comes to the price of lobster, but tells the Acadie-Nouvelle that there's demand for the product and that the Canadian dollar is on the fishermen's side.
Last year lobster was selling for around $5.50 a pound.
Lobster season in the Dalhousie to Pointe-Sapin area runs from April 30th until June 30th.
