Special care homes left with no choice but to raise rates, association says

With the ever-growing cost of property taxes, electricity, insurance and food, special care homes in the province say they have to choice but to up their residency rates.

The Francophone Association of New Brunswick Special Care Facilities says daily household allowances from the government have remained virtually frozen since 2013.

The association says facilities who are still paying mortgages are struggling to make ends meet.
