$2.6M announced to modernize Madisco Complex in Petit-Rocher

The Madisco Complex in Petit-Rocher will become a safer, more modern facility thanks to an investment by the provincial and federal governments.

Ottawa and Fredericton will each contribute $895,000 towards the $2.6 million dollar project while the Comite Permanent de Developpement du Juvenat will chip in the rest.

The investments are part of a greater vision to transform the Madisco Complex into "La Maison de l'Acadie", a community complex offering services to the region's Francophone and Acadian community.

The money will be used to add emergency exits, modernize the building's heating and ventilation system, as well as any other necessary improvements to better serve community organizations housed there.

Acadie-Bathurst MP Serge Cormier says the Maison de l'Acadie community complex will bring citizens together, help residents maintain a healthy lifestyle, while creating jobs and helping the community grow and prosper.
