2024 World Acadian Congress selection committee to visit area this month

A committee tasked with choosing the location for the 2024 World Acadian Congress will be in Northern New Brusnwick alter this month.

The Restigouche and Chaleur Regions, as well as the Avignon and Bonaventrue regions in Quebec have applied to host the event interprovincially.

The group will look at sites the application committee has chosen for the event and will then rate the regions' candidacy based on set criteria.

If accepted, the opening ceremonies would take place in the Bonaventure region with the closing ceremonies taking place in Bathurst.

The selection committee will be visiting the areas on April 28th and 29th.
