$58M investment to improve trade corridors
Ottawa and the province are investing a combined $58 million in road infrastructure upgrades for the province's strategic trade corridors.
"Better roads and highways benefit all Canadians," said federal Infrastructure and Communities Minister François-Philippe Champagne. "This project will create efficient and safer transportation routes and bridges for New Brunswick communities, businesses and people, extending the use of the overall road network for decades to come."
A release says the funding will be allocated to 14 infrastructure projects over eight years and will include the replacement of three culverts along Route 785 in the Lake Utopia area.
The province will provide $33.7 million for the upgrades with Ottawa kicking in $24.3 million through the Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component - Naitonal and Regional Projects Fund.
