Acadian Peninsula community selected to host official N.B. Day celebrations
Pokemouche has been selected to be the centre of New Brunswick...for one day this summer that is.
The provincial government has selected the small community near Tracadie to host official New Brunswick Day celebrations on Monday, August 5th.
Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Robert Gauvin says he's convinced the people of Pokemouche and the Acadian Peninsula will provide New Brunswickers with memorable festivities that will highlight the province's rich heritage, natural beauty, vitality of cultures, and legendary hospitality.
Organizing committee chair Jonathan Sonier says the opportunity to host such a celebration will put the community and its residents on show, reflecting the dynamism of the Acadian Peninsula.
