Acadie-Bathurst Titan edge Sea Dogs, look ahead to back-to-back games vs. Charlottetown

Netminder Reilly Pickard stopped 30 shots on Thursday, October 12th, helping the Acadie-Bathurst Titan beat the Saint John Sea Dogs 2 - 1.

Antoine Morand and Domenic Malatesta each chipped in a goal for the Titan.

Jeff Viel and Pickard named first and second stars of the game respectively.

Head coach Mario Pouliot says team managed the puck quite well and put a lot of pressure on the Sea Dogs' defense.

It was a rough second period, Pouliot says, because the Titan ventured away from the original plan of keeping it simple.

Pouliot says the team tried to attempt fancy plays so he called a time-out to get them back on track, which paid off going into the third period.

The Titan face the Islanders at the KC Irving Centre Friday night and will play them in Charlottetown on Saturday.

Pouliot says the focus will be on controlling the pace of the game and putting pressure on the Islanders' core defense.
