Acadie-Bathurst Titan hammer the Armada in Game 4
Two goals and two assists for Christophe Boivin on Thursday, April 12th helped the Titan down the Armada 7 - 2 to take 3 - 1 quarter final series lead.
Titan captain Jeff Viel says the win is a result of sticking to the game plan, breaking through the Armada's defense and some big saves by netminder Reilly Pickard.
Pickard ended the night stopping 22 shots, while Adam Holwell, Dawson Theede, Rodrigo Abols, Viel, and Vladimir Kuznetsov each chipped in a goal for the Titan.
Abols, Boivin, and Holwell were named first, second, and third stars of the game respectively.
In other QMJHL playoff action last night:
- Saint John swept its series against Val-d'Or with a 7 - 1 victory;
- Chicoutimi ties its series at 2 games-a-piece after beating Rouyn-Noranda 6 - 1;
- Islanders edged the Screaming Eagles to take a 3 - 0 series lead.
Viel says the the playoffs as a whole have been going extremely well.
Though the Titan has faced some adversity early on, Viel says they never gave up and have been playing really well as a team.
Viel says the Titan has a chance to end the Armada's season when they take to the ice at the KC Irving Centre on Friday, April 14th.
He says the Titan will do what it takes to make that happen.
