Acadie-Bathurst Titan kick off QMJHL playoffs with back-to-back home games vs. Quebec Remparts

The QMJHL playoffs get under way this weekend for Acadie-Bathurst Titan with back-to-back home games against the eleventh-place Quebec Remparts in a best-of-seven first round series.

Head coach Mario Pouliot says the team will focus on its qualities and strengths that resulted in a sixth place finish in the regular season standings.

The Titan were 0-1-1 versus the Remparts in the regular season.

Meanwhile, Bathurst's mayor says making the playoffs means a boost for local businesses.

Paolo Fongemie says restaurants and stores are expected to see an increase in sales due to people coming to Bathurst to watch the playoffs.

St. Hubert Express' Herve Mallet tells the Northern Light that his dining room sees increases of up to 25 per cent on game days, with customers coming from places like the Acadian Peninsula and Restigouche region.

Game one goes on Friday, March 24th.
