Air Canada cancels some afternoon flights at Bathurst Regional Airport

The Bathurst Regional Airport has no idea why Air Canada cancelled a number of  flights this month.

Airport's Katherine Lanteigne says the company offered no explanation when they cancelled Tuesday afternoon flights on April 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th along with an afternoon flight on Friday, April 14th.

Executive Director Jennifer Henry says the airline informed the Airport Authority of modifications to its schedule last month.  Henry says the Bathurst Regional Airport provides infrastructure and services to accommodate commercial flights, but adds schedules are solely the decision of the respective airline.

It's not known how many passengers are affected by the decision.

We've reached out to Air Canada for comment.
