Annual Chaleur 10k marathon to move from pave to path to promote local trail system

The annual Chaleur 10k is make the change from pave to path in an effort to promote Bathurst's trail system.

Race director Guillaume Roy says runners this year participants will be breathing fresh air from the woods rather than exhaust as they run Bathurst's green trail system.

Recreation programmer Ryan Wilbur says the trail format means fewer volunteers will be needed.

This year, Wilbur says, teams from BHS and ESN will compete in a 5k race for a banner and a potion of registration fees which will be used to support recreation programs.

The race takes place on Sunday, September 10th at the KC Irving Centre in Bathurst.
