Another wintry blast expected for Chaleur region
Don't put away your shovels just yet.
A winter storm warning from Environment Canada suggests hazardous winter conditions are in store for the Chaleur region tonight and into tomorrow.
The department says heavy snow is expected to begin this afternoon and persist into Saturday, accompanied by strong winds tonight.
Between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow is expected with an additional 10 to 15 centimetres accompanied by strong winds tomorrow.
Environment Canada recommends postponing non-essential travel while Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
