Bathurst aims to sell water to surrounding municipalities
Bathurst is looking for a few more customers to sell its water to.
City manager Andre Doucet says the utility generates an annual revenue of around $800,000 and that expanding water service to communities like Petit-Rocher, Nigadoo, North, and South Tetagouche could help pay for upkeep to Bathurst's water infrastructure.
Though selling to local service districts isn't common practice, the Department of Environment and Local Government says some communities in the province are doing it, and that the government could help Bathurst do it as well.
