Bathurst athlete sets sights on Canadian 10 km Snowshoe Championships

When heading into a marathon, running shoes are typically the footwear of choice for Bathurst triathlete Lee Roy, but this time he'll strap on a pair of snowshoes.

Roy heads to Quebec later this month for the Canadian 10km Snowshoe Championships.

The event takes place February 18th and is a part of a the annual Gatineau Loppet.

He says he first began snowshoeing because it helps him with his cycling and road racing.

After seeing last year's qualifiers, Roy says a podium finish doesn't seem unrealistic.
