Bathurst-East-Nepisiguit-Saint-Isidore MLA aims for interim leadership of N.B. Liberals

Bathurst-East-Nepisiguit-Saint-Isidore MLA Denis Landry says he has a got chance of becoming interim leader of New Brunswick's Liberal party.

The Liberals will choose somebody to temporarily replace former Premier Brian Gallant on Tuesday.

Gallant announced he would step down as leader after he failed to form a majority government following September's provincial election.

Landry says he has his colleagues support and that he intends to bring unity back to the Liberal caucus if he wins.

A permanent leader will be elected at the Liberal's convention in Saint John this summer.
