Bathurst Heritage Museum seeks help from council after budget grant cut in half
The Bathurst Heritage Museum is asking the city for help after its funding grant was slashed by half during council's last budget exercise.
Utilities make up half of the museum's overall expenses.
Museum's Nancy Culligan-Brunner told council on Monday, June 19th that it's operating on a shoe-string budget with no money set aside for infrastructure failure.
It's board is asking council to absorb the cost of electricity and eliminate its water and sewage bill.
Mayor Paolo Fongemie says the museum is an important feature in the city and that council will follow up with its board to see what can be done to help.
