Bathurst man sentenced to 33 months in jail
Police say a Bathurst man has been sentenced for a number of offences that occurred in the Bathurst, Beresford and Petit-Rocher area.
On Thursday, 37-year-old Yvon Raymond Frenette was sentenced to 33 months in jail, less time served, in relation to several charges, including assault, harassment, uttering threats and assault causing bodily harm.
Publishing the details of some of the offences is barred by a publication ban to preserve the identity of the victims.
Police say Frenette is also banned from having firearms for life, and has been ordered to have a smaple of his DNA taken to be added to the National DNA Data Bank.
At the end of his sentence, he will be on probation for 3 years.
According to a press release, Frenette has been in detention since August 2018, and therefore has one year and five months left to serve in prison.
