Bathurst one of four communities to have advanced-care paramedics beginning this spring
Bathurst is one of four New Brunswick municipalities who will be the first to have advanced-care paramedics beginning in April.
Advanced-care paramedics can do a few more things than primary-care paramedics, like give more life-saving drugs and perform potentially life-saving procedures like intubations while still on the road.
There are already 53 advanced-care paramedics in the province whose scope is limited because of current legislation.
Advanced-care paramedics will also hit the streets in Moncton, Saint John, and Edmundston.
New Brunswick has been the only province not deploying advanced-care paramedics.
