Bathurst Volunteer Centre's Christmas food basket initiative enters 25th season
The Bathurst Volunteer Centre says it expects to distribute more than 400 Christmas food baskets to families in need this holiday season.
It's the 25th year for the initiative and Volunteer Centre manager Michel Godin says it's thanks to the generosity of the Chaleur Region community.
The baskets contain things like hygiene products, kids' toys, as well as perishable and non-perishable items for turkey dinner.
Godin says the organization's board of directors fund-raises approximately $40,000 for the initiative.
