BC MP seeks federal NDP leadership

(CP) - The campaign to replace Tom Mulcair as leader of the federal New Democratic Party has its first official candidate in Peter Julian.

The longtime British Columbia M-P says he's decided to seek the party leadership because he wants to see a government, and an economy, that is more inclusive of all Canadians.

Julian says the social safety net is frayed and homelessness is still a crisis.

He also wants to create more clean energy and eliminate tuition at post-secondary institutions.
