Belledune to mull over snow removal
Belledune wants to study how snow removal operations can be improved after a recent storm and high winds resulted in some of the village's streets being impassible for several days.
The province's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure handles snow removal for Belledune, to the tune of $184,000.
Mayor Joe Noel tells the Northern Light that the province does a pretty good job of maintaining his village's roads but that forming a committee to further examine the service won't hurt.
Noel expects the village to move ahead with the committee, but notes it first needs to pass through council as a bylaw.
