Beresford business will rebuild following devastating blaze

The owner of a Beresford business, whose more than 8,000 square foot warehouse was destroyed by fire last week, says it could take months before it can be rebuilt.

But Chaleur Building Supplies Ltd. co-owner Ludger Doucet is trying to stay positive.

Doucet tells the Northern Light it was fortunate nobody was hurt in last Thursday's blaze and that the main store was able to be saved.

He estimates that around 40 per cent of the warehousing was lost but says insurance should be able to cover the loss.

Doucet says it could take a few weeks to inventory the damage, but says the company will rebuild.

The Fire Marshal's office continues to investigate the cause of the blaze, however Beresford Fire Chief Daniel Duguay says it doesn't appear to be suspicious in nature.

Doucet says Chaleur Building Supplies will get through this and come out stronger and better.
