Bid submitted to host 2024 World Acadian Congress in communities surrounding Bay of Chaleur

An application to hold the 2024 World Acadian Congress in communities surrounding the Bay of Chaleur has been submitted.

A successful bid would see events hosted in communities in the Chaleur and Restigouche regions of New Brunswick as well as Gaspe municipalities in Avignon and Bonaventure counties in Quebec.

A joint application was also submitted by the Clare and Argyles regions of Nova Scotia.

Yves Gagnon, whose company helped put together the bid, expects the event can be put on for less than the maximum $11 million budget.
